What better way to spark up the imagination of pizza lovers everywhere than allowing them the chance to create their own pizza that could be chosen as an addition to the Papa John’s official menu? As if that wasn’t enough - “Papa” is going to pay the winner a portion of the earnings for the first year. As a non-fan of Papa John’s, I must say that my interest has definitely been pricked into checking out what Papa is offering.
And who better to host this competition aimed at the online social media demographic then the all powerful Facebook universe? When people go to Papa John’s Facebook page, in addition to entering the toppings list they have devised, applicants must include a 250 word story of what makes their pizza amazing, unusual, or special. Papa and others judges will than pick ten semifinalists to actually create and taste. From these ten, three finalists will be chosen and go in a head-to-head-to-head match up to see who can sell the most pizzas at Papa John’s.
Each finalist will be given $1,000 to advertise or just keep and hope their pizza is good enough to sell the most. When the competition ends the highest selling pizza wins and the winner receives a guest appearance in a Papa John’s commercial, 1% of the sales of their pizza for the following year, and a lifetime supply of pizza. So every contestant really has to ask themselves if they love pizza that much.
