Corona’s Bringing the Beach to You



We all know that in the face of rebuilding the economy and recapturing customers many companies have gone above and beyond to promote their brands and once again bring in revenue. Corona has taken this idea and moved one step further. Corona Extra and Corona Light have launched their largest summer promotion to date, tied to a "Beach Getaway" sweepstakes.

Corona’s promotion kicked off on May 20th with a 24-hour “pop-up” beach party in New York’s Time Square and will run through July 31st. This urban beach party featured 30 tons of sand, ocean sounds, palm trees, volley ball and other games, beach-item giveaways and brand ambassadors (including "Real Housewives of New York City" star Kelly Bensimon and Olympic volleyball champion Karch Kiraly).

Media covering the event included ESPN2's "SportsNation," local New York TV stations and Web and other outlets based in the U.S. The sweepstakes offers 100 grand prices of a trip for two to Cancun, Mexico and can only be entered by looking inside specially marked 12-, 18-, and 24-packs of Corona boxes. This is yet another display of Corona’s initiative thinking when it comes to their promotional ideas.
